Rejection to Recognition

My journey into the world of acting began at the age of two, when I danced with an uncle during a Ramleela performance in my village in Himachal Pradesh. Even as a child, I felt an inexplicable pull toward the stage, and while I didn’t know exactly what the future held, I knew it would involve performing.

After completed my engineering degree, life seemed to be on a set path. However, a sudden call from my friend changed everything. He told me about an acting workshop in Solan, and I decided to give it a shot. During the workshop, I was asked to portray a character from Uttar Pradesh, and I got so immersed in the role that I accidentally used an abusive word. The guide was furious and nearly suspended me, but my friends intervened, and I was allowed to continue. I realized then that my biggest challenge was overcoming the slang in my pronunciation.

After completing the workshop, I was cast in a lead role in a Pahadi film called "Nat Bhajj." Unfortunately, the movie’s release coincided with the government’s demonetization announcement, and it flopped. The hope I had for my career seemed to crumble overnight. However, a short film I did at the same time, "Papa," gained significant recognition and won several awards.

My parents have always been supportive. With renewed confidence, I moved to Mumbai to explore the real world of acting. But the city greeted me with a harsh reality. The struggle was intense, but I eventually landed a role in the film "Suhasini." Sadly, it didn’t receive much appreciation, and despite doing many songs, I remained unrecognized.

Just as I began to fear auditions, the pandemic hit, and for a year, I found no work. However, during that time, I focused on honing my skills. I auditioned online for "Pandya Store," was selected, and the show became a turning point in my life. People finally began to recognize my work, and that serial changed everything for me.

Now, I’m looking for a strong role in a web series, TV show, or film—something that will let me shine even brighter.
