A Music Lover’s Path from Jaipur to the National Stage
From a young age, music was always part of my world. My mother, with her beautiful voice, would sing, and I would listen in awe. Her melodies became the soundtrack of my childhood. But it wasn’t until 2015, during my second year of college, that my own musical journey truly began.
There was a music institute near my college, and one day, a friend of mine mentioned that he wanted to learn music from there. He asked me to join him to inquire about it, and though I hadn’t planned on it, something about that moment felt right. I agreed. Shortly after, my friend could no longer continue, but I found myself unable to stop. It was as if the universe had chosen me to pursue music. That realization inspired me deeply—it felt like life itself had set me on this path.
I went on to win several music awards in my hometown, which gave me the confidence to pursue my passion further. On September 12, 2017, I left for Jaipur to study Indian classical music. However, it wasn’t easy. Being away from home for the first time was a challenge, and after a while, I decided to return. But on August 2, 2018, the music called me back to Jaipur, and this time, I completed my undergraduate degree in Indian classical music.
It was during this period that my roommate’s friend approached me with an unexpected opportunity—a live performance at a café. I hesitated at first, admitting that I had no experience, but he encouraged me to give it a try. That performance on November 16, 2018, was unforgettable. I felt as if I was floating above the clouds. I remember earning ₹2,000 for that show, and from then on, I began doing solo performances regularly.
Then came the pandemic, a difficult time for performers everywhere. But I kept the faith, and on March 31, 2023, I had the chance to perform with a band for the first time. That show marked a turning point in my career—I haven’t looked back since. I’ve been fortunate enough to perform on stages across India and even internationally.
Everything seemed to be going perfectly, and earlier this year, in February, I received news about a singing reality show happening in Rajasthan called *Super Singer Plus Rajasthan*. I decided to participate, and after a five-month-long journey, I became one of the finalists and proudly took home the title of second runner-up.
Looking back, I’ve learned that life is full of surprises. You never know where fate will take you. The most important lesson I’ve gained is to always listen to your heart and soul, even when success feels out of reach. The universe has its own plans, and sometimes, those plans are bigger than we can imagine.
As I move forward, my dream is to become a playback singer, lending my voice to Bollywood and creating music that touches hearts. This journey is far from over, and I’m excited to see where the melody of fate takes me next.
