A Journey into the World of Electronic Music

It all started with a deep love for music—the kind that ignites energy in people and makes them lose themselves in the moment. I was drawn to the raw intensity of rock, and that’s where my journey began. As a rock DJ, I thrived on the adrenaline rush that came with every beat drop, every headbang, and every electrifying performance.

But everything changed the day I stumbled upon DJ NYK’s tracks, especially his remix of Chok Tere. His seamless blends and ability to create an immersive vibe with electronic music left me in awe. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. That was my turning point.

From that moment, I dived headfirst into the world of electronic music. I spent countless hours honing my craft, experimenting with sounds, and developing my unique style. What started as a passion soon turned into a profession, and today, whether it’s a pulsating club, an extravagant wedding, or a private event, my goal remains the same—to make people dance, connect, and create unforgettable memories.

Every journey has its challenges, and mine was no different. Breaking into the scene was no easy feat. The competition was fierce, opportunities were scarce, and proving myself in an industry filled with seasoned DJs required relentless effort.

Transitioning from rock to electronic music wasn’t just a shift in sound—it was a complete transformation. I had to unlearn and relearn, experiment with different styles, and push myself beyond my comfort zone. But perhaps the biggest challenge wasn’t just in the music industry—it was at home.

Convincing my parents that DJing wasn’t just a hobby but a serious career choice was a battle of its own. At the time, I was juggling college, assignments, and gigs, running on sleepless nights and pure determination. There were moments of self-doubt, gigs that didn’t go as planned, and financial struggles that made me question if I was on the right path. Equipment issues, constant learning curves, and the hustle of balancing everything felt overwhelming.

But through it all, I held onto my passion. Every setback became a lesson. Every mistake, an opportunity to grow. What kept me going was the fire inside me—the unwavering belief that music was my calling.

I surrounded myself with people who believed in me, supported me, and pushed me to keep going. I stayed patient, worked harder, and never lost sight of why I started in the first place—to create music that moves people.

Then came the pandemic. The music industry came to a standstill, and with it, my dreams seemed to fade. With no gigs, no events, and uncertainty looming, I found myself at a breaking point. For the first time, I questioned everything.

To sustain myself, I took a completely different path—I joined a car detailing shop as a marketing head. It was a tough decision, one that felt like stepping away from my true passion. But life has a way of bringing you back to what you love, even when you least expect it.

During this time, DJ Shine—more than a mentor, a brother to me—was constantly looking out for opportunities that aligned with my passion. After seven months away from music, he connected me with DJ Clement.

I still remember the phone call. Clement asked me just one thing— “Do you trust me?” When I said yes, his next words changed everything: “Come join The Musicscool and work with me.”

Without a second thought, I put in my papers and quit my job overnight. It was a leap of faith, and I haven’t looked back since.

Every challenge, every setback, and every tough decision only made me stronger. The key was to never completely give up on my passion, to surround myself with the right people, and to trust that the right opportunities would come at the right time.

Now, my focus is on creating more music, performing globally, and taking things to the next level. Over the years, I’ve worked on numerous remixes and mashups, refining my sound and pushing creative boundaries.

Recently, I launched KG Flips—a project that blends my love for electronic music with the rich musical heritage of Kannada cinema. It’s my tribute to the Sandalwood industry, bringing a fresh and unique twist to its iconic melodies.

Throughout this journey, I’ve had the honor of achieving milestones that once seemed like distant dreams. One of the most surreal moments was opening for DJ NYK—the very artist who inspired me to step into the world of electronic music. Standing on that stage, playing my set before him, and receiving a personal compliment from him was beyond anything I had imagined. Another defining moment was working with DJ Clement, a mentor who played a crucial role in my comeback and growth as a DJ. His guidance not only helped me refine my craft but also reignited my passion for music. Additionally, performing with DJ Akhtar was another significant milestone that pushed me to evolve, refine my sound, and strive for new heights in my career. Each of these experiences has been a stepping stone, reminding me why I started and motivating me to keep pushing forward.
