The Making of a Self-Made Actor

I was born and raised in Rajasthan, but my dreams took me far beyond my hometown. My journey into the entertainment industry wasn’t a direct one—it began in the fitness world. Before stepping into the world of acting, I worked as a gym trainer and even earned state-level recognition for my profession. I trained individuals in my district while also nurturing my passion for modeling. My hard work paid off when I participated in a modeling competition and secured the position of second runner-up.

But my heart longed for something more—something bigger. That’s when I transitioned into acting, turning my leisure activities into my profession. The shift wasn’t easy, but every challenge only fueled my determination. Then, an unexpected opportunity knocked on my door—a call from Delhi for a magazine shoot. It was a turning point in my career.

By May 2015, I had completed 10 years in the acting industry, and since then, I have been a part of over 20-30 television shows. Recently, I completed a web series titled Madgaon The Closed File and played a minor role in a Marathi film. Though I don’t consider it a major milestone, every experience has been a stepping stone in my journey.

Coming to Mumbai was one of the biggest challenges of my life. With no prior knowledge of the city, I started from scratch. I lived in a boys' PG in Navi Mumbai while my auditions took place in Andheri. This meant taking two trains and a bus for every audition—a tiring but necessary routine. After about ten days of struggle, I received a call from a gym in Andheri looking for a trainer. I grabbed the opportunity and started working part-time, from 7 AM to 11 AM. After work, I would head straight for auditions, tirelessly chasing my dream. This cycle continued for months until I landed my first television role—a reporter in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.

Beyond television, I dedicated 2-3 years to theater, performing in nearly 15-20 plays. Theater was a transformative experience for me—it strengthened my skills and deepened my understanding of acting.

Throughout my journey, I have gathered memories and accolades that continue to inspire me. Winning a silver medal at the state level in physical education as a trainer was a proud moment that reinforced my dedication to fitness. My artistic side was recognized early when I received a small prize for painting in the 8th grade, a hobby I was deeply passionate about. In theater, my acting teacher rewarded me with prize money and a shawl for delivering a powerful performance, a gesture that encouraged me to keep pushing my boundaries. I have also recognise with Global book of excellence Award. Another significant recognition was receiving a shield for my contributions to the celebration of Srimad Ramayan, a moment that reminded me of the impact storytelling can have on audiences. These achievements, though diverse, have played an essential role in shaping my journey as an actor.

Over the years, I have been fortunate to play diverse characters. I have appeared in Vighnaharta Ganesh and Wagle Ki Duniya, and I particularly enjoyed playing ‘Birju’ in Apna Time Bhi Aayega on Zee TV from 2019 to 2020.

However, the role closest to my heart has been ‘Bharat’ in Ramayan, which premiered on January 1, 2024. The show has now been running for over a year and has become an iconic part of today’s television landscape. The experience has been nothing short of extraordinary, making it one of the most rewarding chapters of my career.

I continue to seek roles that are inspiring and motivating—stories that resonate with the audience. My journey has been one of perseverance, faith, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

To the youth who dream of making it big, I leave them with these words:

Kar Khud par bharosa, tu kahi rukna mat,

Tu karta ja mehnat, kahi jhukna mat,

Hai tere irade mazboot, tu kahi tootna mat,

Banna chahta hai kuch, to likh de apni zindagi ke panno per apni kismat.

Believe in yourself. Keep pushing forward. Your time will come.
