A Rising Star in Independent Music

Music found its way into my life when I was in the third grade. My family had a keyboard at home because my brother took music classes, though he didn’t continue with them. Unlike him, I was naturally drawn to the instrument, experimenting with the keys and discovering a deep love for melodies. Recognizing my interest, my mother enrolled me in music classes, setting the foundation for a lifelong journey.

Like any journey, mine has been filled with challenges. One of my earliest struggles was dealing with throat issues before important events. I would practice diligently, only to face a sore throat right before performances. Over time, I learned the importance of vocal care—maintaining a proper diet, avoiding strain, and following vocal exercises to strengthen my voice.

A major turning point came when I transitioned from singing covers to creating my own original music. Not knowing anything about the industry—how to release songs, promote them, or even where to begin—felt overwhelming. The financial investment required for production and promotions added to the difficulty. But I took one step at a time, learning everything from scratch—how music is made, how a song is released, and how marketing works. Slowly and steadily, I figured out the process, and that’s how I started releasing my originals and improving with each song.

Despite all the struggles, I have always believed in patience and consistency. My determination to keep learning and growing has been the key to overcoming any obstacle. However, one of the toughest setbacks in my journey happened after the release of my first original song, Sohna Mukh. I suffered a severe throat infection and couldn’t sing for five months. It was a mentally challenging phase, making me feel disconnected from music. But I focused on recovery, underwent professional vocal therapy, and gradually regained my strength. That experience taught me the importance of vocal care and patience.

Another ongoing challenge as an independent artist is survival in the industry. Opportunities are not always easy to come by, and securing performances or recognition requires constant effort. There have also been gaps between my original releases due to health issues or other priorities, making it difficult to maintain consistency. However, I have learned to adapt, stay persistent, and keep pushing forward. Every challenge has only made me stronger and more determined to make my mark in the music industry.

My ultimate goal is to make a strong impact in the music industry and take my career to new heights. One of my biggest aspirations is to enter Bollywood and have my song featured in a Bollywood film. Creating music that resonates with a wide audience is something I strive for.

I aim to achieve major milestones—whether through viral hits, chart-topping songs on streaming platforms, or music videos that reach millions of listeners. I want my songs to be heard and loved by audiences worldwide.

To build momentum, I plan to release songs frequently, ensuring a consistent flow of fresh music for my listeners. Regular releases will help me stay connected with my audience while allowing me to experiment with different sounds and styles. Performing at major events and collaborating with other talented artists is another key part of my plan. Live performances bring a unique energy, and I want to connect with fans through unforgettable stage experiences. Collaborations will help bring fresh creativity into my music, expanding my reach even further.

This is just the beginning, and I am excited for what’s ahead. With dedication and passion, I am working towards making all these dreams a reality.

Transitioning from singing covers to creating original music was a significant shift in my journey. Some of my proudest achievements so far include winning Best Punjabi & Best Pop Consumer Category at the Indian Music Awards 2024 for my song Rabb Toh Mangdii, which was presented by Hungama Artist Aloud. Managing my song Haal Ni Pucheya completely independently was another major milestone—I handled everything from production to the music video to promotions on my own. Despite being fully independent, the song achieved great success, with 150K+ streams on Spotify and strong traction on Instagram and YouTube. Additionally, balancing my engineering career with my passion for music has been a challenging yet rewarding accomplishment. Alongside my engineering background, I pursued and completed a formal degree in Classical Music, strengthening my technical knowledge and refining my skills as a musician. Excelling in both fields requires discipline, but it is something I take great pride in.

Music is not just something I do; it is who I am. Every song, every performance, and every challenge I overcome strengthens my resolve to keep going. The road ahead is long, but I am ready to take on every challenge and continue making music that touches hearts.
