Journey Into Music and Beyond

It’s funny how destiny works. Sometimes, it finds you in the most unexpected corners of life — like a locked classroom when you're just trying to hide from a teacher. That was me back in 11th grade. I had absolutely no interest in music. None. But life had a tracklist of its own.

It was just another random day of bunking a class with my friend. We were roaming around, trying not to get caught, when we stumbled upon a music room. Inside were our friends — Jenish and Coke — rehearsing for the annual day function. They had keyboards in front of them, playing cine songs like pros. That moment changed my life. I stood there, mesmerized, asking them endless questions: “What’s a chord? What does scale mean? How are you making those sounds from that tiny keyboard?”

They answered everything. No ego, no judgment. Just two friends sharing what they loved.

The very next day, I found myself at Jenish’s house, learning the basics of music. It was like opening a door I never even knew existed.

Growing up, I’d only listened to English music — Sean Paul, Lil Wayne, Eminem. I didn’t even know what genres they belonged to until I started understanding music theory. It turned out my musical DNA was already written. The rhythm, the flow — it all leaned towards rap. Writing lyrics and singing in English came naturally. Rapping became instinct.

Then came Eminem. And then came 8 Mile. Watching Lose Yourself gave me goosebumps, and memorizing tracks like Rap God, Mockingbird, Without Me, and Ass Like That became my obsession. The more I listened, the more I felt like rap was mine. Not just to listen to — but to live.

While others were preparing for exams in 11th grade, I was failing subjects left and right — not because I couldn’t study, but because I didn’t want to. Music was the only subject I wanted to pass in.

Instead of attending holiday coaching classes, I took up a part-time job at an ice cream shop. My mission? Buy a guitar. My parents were deep in debt, and I knew asking them would be unfair. So I earned, saved, and bought that guitar. It's still with me, 8 years later — my first real investment in my dream.

When 12th grade came, my routine didn’t change much. Jenish and I stopped attending coaching classes and instead joined music and guitar classes. But after just 3 months, we couldn’t afford it anymore. So we turned to YouTube. Self-taught. Self-driven. And fully addicted to music.

I remember telling my mom on the day of my 12th math exam, “I don’t want to go to college. I want to do music for life.”

She didn’t panic. She didn’t scream. She just said, “Do whatever you want, just do it well.” What more could a son ask for than an Amma like that?

I enrolled in a music production course — and that’s where life truly began. I met my closest collaborator, The Plural, and reunited with Coke, who to this day produces the beats for all my tracks. Everything amazing in my life started from that course. Every connection, every opportunity.

I don’t call them struggles. That’s too negative. I call them challenges — situations that test you, shape you, and push you forward.

My parents had separated. My mother was earning ₹22,000 per month with over ₹9 lakhs in debt. The course fee was ₹2.4 lakhs. Still, she scraped together what she could, and my guru understood our situation, letting me study without asking for the balance. That kind of kindness? I’ll never forget it.

I lost my only studio job. My girlfriend left me. My father — the man who encouraged me to take the music course — passed away. I spiraled. Emotionally. Mentally. Spiritually. I questioned everything. I hated everything.

My dad used to say, “You’ll win a Grammy one day.” So, for him, I will. That’s the promise.

While music is the soul that drives me, my passions don’t stop there. Six years ago, I won Chennai’s Got Talent, a moment that proved to me that when you give your all, the world takes notice. Beyond the beats and lyrics, I also found a different kind of rhythm — in the world of trading. I was once ranked India’s #2 Forex Trader in the weekly charts on the IQ Option platform. Surprising to some, but to me, it’s all part of the same drive — focus, discipline, and instinct. And if there’s one thing I’ve consistently maintained across everything I do, it’s this: no matter what competition I enter or how many times I try, I never walk away without making it to the finals. That’s more than a record — it’s my mindset.

I’m not here to be just another rapper. I’m here to redefine sound. To explore every genre. To push boundaries. I’ll keep grinding. I’ll keep learning. I’ll stay disciplined. Because I know where I came from — and I know exactly where I’m headed.

This journey isn’t just mine. It belongs to my mother, who sacrificed everything. To Jenish and Coke, who stood by me through thick and thin. To The Plural, my brother in beats. To my father, who’s watching me from the sky.

And to that classroom we randomly walked into — thank you. That one accident became my life's most beautiful beginning.
