From Bollywood Beats to Global Dreams
The rhythmic pulse of Bollywood music has always had a special place in my heart. Growing up, music was a constant in my life, but it wasn’t until about four years ago that I truly discovered its transformative power—especially when heard through the lens of a live DJ set. I still remember the first time I felt that electric energy at a party—the way the music united everyone on the dance floor, how it seemed to control the room’s vibe like magic. That night, I realized something: I didn’t want to just be in the crowd. I wanted to be behind the decks.
It was a wedding event that sealed the deal. Watching a DJ command the space with a seamless blend of beats and moods gave me goosebumps. I borrowed some basic equipment and started experimenting. Hours turned into days, days into months—and before I knew it, I was hooked.
Determined to dive deeper, I enrolled in a professional DJing course at a music school in Bangalore. There, I learned more than just technical skills like beatmatching and mixing—I was introduced to the art of DJing. Understanding how to read a crowd, control energy levels, and create emotional highs and lows through sound was a revelation. That foundation allowed me to explore and develop a style that was distinctly mine.
My first sets were at local events and small clubs. The crowds were modest, the pay even more so, but the experience was invaluable. I faced the typical hurdles of any newcomer: struggling to book gigs, trying to convince promoters to give me a chance, and constantly needing to prove myself. But I stayed consistent, said yes to every opportunity—no matter how small—and let my passion speak for itself.
There were nights when the decks glitched, cables failed, and laptops froze mid-set. Those moments were terrifying, especially in front of a dancing crowd expecting perfection. But with time, I learned to be ready for anything. Now, I never hit the stage without backup gear and a calm mindset. Experience taught me how to turn panic into performance.
One of the most difficult parts of this journey was not the crowd or the gear—it was the comparison. In a world full of incredibly talented DJs, it’s easy to feel like you’re not enough. I had moments of doubt, wondering if I truly belonged. But instead of getting lost in someone else’s sound, I focused on creating my own. I started experimenting with fusions of genres, blending Bollywood with electronic, house, and indie vibes. It was liberating—and slowly, I began attracting an audience that resonated with my authenticity.
The financial aspect wasn’t easy either. Investing in quality equipment, traveling for gigs, and promoting myself took a toll. But I learned how to spend smart, investing in essentials first and saving for growth opportunities. Every sacrifice felt worth it when I saw people dancing to my sets, smiling, vibing, feeling alive.
One of the proudest milestones in my career was landing my first residency at a club. It was a defining moment—not just because of the platform it gave me, but because it validated all the nights of hustle, doubt, and determination. I still remember my first major performance there. The energy was unreal. I had never felt so connected to a crowd before. And since then, I've had the honor of opening for some big names in the industry and spinning sets at unforgettable weddings that turned into dance-floor carnivals.
But this is only the beginning.
I dream of taking my sound global—playing at international music festivals, collaborating with artists from different cultures, and performing in cities around the world. My goal is to evolve constantly, pushing the boundaries of what I can do as a DJ while staying true to my roots.
From that first party where I fell in love with live music, to the sleepless nights learning to beatmatch, to now playing for hundreds on a regular basis—it’s been a wild, beautiful journey. And as I look ahead, the beat goes on, louder than ever.
