A Young Artist’s Vision for Music

From the soft hums in a school corridor to the powerful chords echoing across digital platforms, my musical journey began with a dream and a voice. Music entered my life at a young age, and it quickly became more than just a passion—it became my purpose. What started as school-stage performances gradually transformed into a presence on social media, catching the attention of music lovers and professionals alike.

With time and perseverance, I launched my own YouTube channel, where I continue to share my originals, duets, and soulful renditions. This platform became both a canvas and a launchpad—helping me connect with my audience and collaborate with various companies on exciting musical ventures. Each note, each lyric, became a step forward.

My journey has been blessed with beautiful milestones. I’ve had the honor of winning multiple awards at youth festivals and singing competitions, and I’ve had the privilege of participating in renowned reality shows. Each stage I’ve stepped on taught me something new—about music, about the industry, and about myself.

Training formally in folk music at Tejwant Kittu Music Academy helped me refine my craft and connect more deeply with the roots of Indian music. And then came one of the most defining moments of my career: receiving the Asia’s Top 100 Influential Women Award as the Best Youngest Singer of the Year. It wasn’t just an award—it was a statement that dreams, when nurtured with dedication, do take flight.

 While music has always been my soul’s language, academics have been my anchor. I’m currently pursuing a BA in Music (Vocal and Instrumental), BA in Psychology Honours, and an MA in Psychology. Yes, it’s a full plate, but one I’ve chosen with love and intention.

Balancing multiple degrees with rehearsals, recordings, and digital deadlines has been a challenge—but a challenge that shaped me. There were sleepless nights, missed hangouts, and moments of burnout, but I never let the weight of my dreams crush the joy of chasing them.

Psychology, to me, isn’t just a subject—it’s a lens through which I understand the world, the art of healing, and even my own resilience. It has empowered me to approach life and music with mindfulness, compassion, and authenticity.

Behind every spotlight lies a story of shadows. My journey has seen its fair share of doubt, rejection, and hurdles. Early on, many questioned my path, and I often had to prove my worth more than once. The music industry isn’t always kind to newcomers, especially young women trying to find their voice—literally and metaphorically.

There were times when opportunities felt distant, when criticism stung, and when finances added to the strain. But I kept singing. I kept believing. I poured my heart into every note and turned setbacks into stepping stones. My training in psychology helped me process negativity, stay grounded, and channel emotions into creativity.

The result? Growth. As an artist. As a student. As a woman navigating two demanding but deeply fulfilling paths.

 My efforts have been recognized not only on the stage but also in communities. I've been invited as a Guest of Honor at multiple events, receiving tokens of appreciation for my contributions to the arts. My YouTube channel continues to grow, reaching wider audiences and opening doors to new collaborations.

As I continue this journey, my vision is clear—I want to keep evolving. Musically, I aim to explore new genres, collaborate with diverse artists, and expand my digital reach. I see myself not just as a performer, but as a mentor, educator, and innovator.

Academically, I’m passionate about integrating music with psychology—whether through music therapy, education, or research. I want to inspire others to use music as a tool for healing, expression, and transformation. Education will always be part of my purpose, and I hope to create spaces where learning and creativity meet.
